Eye Tests and Examinations

We recommend you should have your eyes tested every two years, whatever your age. Eye tests are important not just for the health of your eyesight, but an optometrist will also able to spot other potential medical problems such as Cataracts and Glaucoma. There are many different tests which can be performed on your eyes, and which ones you receive will depend on your individual needs.

Eye tests start from £x, but we are always running special offers so there may be something for you.

Our eye test cover the following:
» Distant, intermediate and close vision
» Peripheral vision for any restrictions on side vision
» The focusing ability of the eye from distant to near
» The exterior of the eye for clarity and freedom of ulcers or infection
» The muscle balance of the eyes to ensure they are working well and properly co-ordinated
» A retina examination for eye problems

Many Other Things Can be Detected From a Routine Eye Examination

Cataracts can be detected before they begin to impair the vision, if left untreated can lead to severe sight loss.

By measuring the internal eye pressure and careful examination of the back of the eye, glaucoma can be detected.

Abnormal blood pressure can also be detected from a thorough eye test.

After the eye examination you will be advised of the findings. Should glasses be required, we offer a large range of the latest frame designs from budget to designer. All types of contact lenses are also available.

Our qualified dispensing opticians are available to give you full advice upon the many different types of lenses available to suit your individual needs, all at a price to suit your pocket. After collection of your glasses we offer a free after-care service, offering free adjustments and free professional advice.
